The world's most popular musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera", makes a triumphant appearance at Sagres Campo Pequeno in Lisbon between October 15 and 27 this year.
 
This is the premiere of the Broadway Entertainment Group production at the mythical Lisbon venue for a limited season this fall.
 
"The Phantom of the Opera" is Andrew Lloyd Webber's most critically acclaimed musical, having won more than 70 major theater awards, including 4 Olivier and 7 Tonys. Seen by more than 160 million people in 46 territories, 193 cities and 18 languages, this haunting love story continues to win fans around the world. Since its premiere in London's West End in October 1986, "The Phantom of the Opera" has been one of the most watched productions of all time.
 
Based on the novel by Gaston Leroux, "The Phantom of the Opera" takes place in 19th century Paris, where a musical genius known only as 'The Phantom' lurks in the depths of the Paris Opera House. Hypnotized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano named Christine Daaé, the Phantom tries to lure Christine into becoming his protégé. Will she be able to resist the mystery of the Phantom of the Opera, or will she be drawn into his world of obsession, darkness and betrayal?
 
Broadway Entertainment Group and Everything Is New are bringing this latest production to Lisbon for the first time, with an incredible West End and Broadway cast and stunning sets. The production features a series of 230 meticulously crafted costumes, capturing the elegance and fashion of the 30s. The sets, thought out to the smallest detail, transport viewers to an iconic Paris, bringing this haunting story, which has won so many fans, to life.
