Formed in 2010 by Maggiebeth Sand and Mark Powell, British symphonic/folk/metal band, Serpentyne, are authors of a musical movement characterised by a merging of sound and styles, mixing guitars, bass and drums with Maggiebeth's operatic voice and medieval instruments such as hurdy-gurdy, and bagpipes.
Their songs are inspired by myths, and historical legends that tell stories about heroes and muses: Helen Of Troy, Jeanne d’Arc, Valkyries, Viking Blood, Angel Of The Night, The Dark Queen, Aphrodite, as well as their unique arrangement of Game Of Thrones. Some of the instrumentals are based on, medieval and traditional music, such as Saltarello and Morrighan’s Jig.
Serpentyne’s album “The Serpent’s Kiss” aligns with symphonic metalbands like Epica, Within Temptation and Nightwish, but also with the Celtic/Folk metal of Eluveitie.
The band are currently working on their next album "Angel of The Night," to be released by the Autumn.
“Lavishly orchestrated cinematic majesty, embracing galloping rhythms from the power-metal genre.”

“Through this fusion of medieval sounds with biting electric guitars and pounding drums…. The serpent has arisen!”
