Shahin Najafi, is an Iranian German musician, singer and songwriter who repeatedly crosses genres, including Rap, Rock & Folk and most recently Jazz Fusion. His Meta Phrygian album is an example of what one can call the experience of combining Jazz music and Gilaki phenomenon and Najafi and his ensemble are bringing this unique Jazz Fusion experience on tour to UK audience. He sings in various languages such as Farsi, Gilaki, Kurdish, German and Arabic and has stated that he strives to use poetic, literary, philosophical and political elements in his music to deal with today’s society issues.
Shahin has toured all around the world, from the European countries, to the United States of America and Canada and performed with The Gürzenich Orchestra in Cologne and Blackfield in Tel Aviv amongst others.
In an industry that often rewards mindless entertainment, Shahin stands apart as a musician who brings both catchy riffs and revelations to every performance.
