Sonars / Wuh Oh / TEEK
Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh.
This event is for over 18s only - No refunds will be issued for under 18s.
Sonars are a two-piece Electro-Psych outfit from Brighton (UK) and Bergamo (IT). The band was founded by Frederick Paysden and Serena Oldrati, who share guitar, keyboard, synthesizer and bass playing duties whilst also singing, thanks to the use of loop stations and drum machines. Their retro-futuristic sound draws inspiration from Electro-Psych bands such as Air, Gorillaz, Jagwar Ma, Radiohead, MGMT and Tame Impala, with a love for Sixties and Seventies rock.
In May 2017 they supported SPLASHH (UK/AUS) on the German leg of their tour. In June 2017 they performed at several important European festivals such as MIL (PT), Arezzo Wave Love Festival (IT) and Maifeld Derby (DE) alongside internationally acclaimed acts such as Slowdive, King Gizzard, Thurston Moore, Primal Scream, Spoon, Whitney and Parcels.
"Musically sitting somewhere between Tame Impala's mind-expanding aural excursions and Ladytron's polemic electro-pop, Sonars' blend of ambient electro-pop and delicate shoegaze encapsulate the true spirit of Eurosonic in every conceivable way." – Drowned in Sound
Oscillating between alt-rock, hip-hop and pop, Edinburgh based TEEK combine piercing melodies and chunky hooks for an intoxicating live sound. https://soundcloud.com/soundsliketeek
