Saxophonist, composer, bandleader, teacher - Stan Sulzmann's influence on successive British jazz generations is immeasurable, reflected in the stellar line-up for this special 70th. birthday concert, with long-standing colleagues Henry Lowther, Mark Nightingale and Nikki Iles rubbing shoulders with new talent - Josh Arcoleo, James Allsopp, and his son Matt Sulzmann. For this celebratory programme, Sulzmann has composed new music and arranged pieces by some of his long time musical colleagues; including Iain Ballamy, John Taylor, Mike Walker, Gwilym Simcock, Nikki Iles and Kenny Wheeler. A fascinating journey through some five decades of British jazz at the very highest level.
