The Boxcar Boys
Kingskerswell Parish Church, Newton Abbot.
The Boxcar Boys have been creating unique original music, weaving together their take on folk songs, klezmer, and traditional jazz since 2010. They started as a busking band, performing at markets and on the streets of Toronto, and have since brought their exuberant performances to the stages of jazz and folk festivals in Canada and the USA, recorded 3 widely acclaimed albums (including the Canadian Folk Music Award nominated Rye Whiskey), and have become a mainstay of Canadian roots and jazz music. Their performances are both fun and virtuosic, tender and celebratory. This spring is their first tour in the UK which includes stops at Gate to Southwell Festival and Beverley Folk Festival.
