Growing up in Southampton, Tom prides himself on his live performances, as his distinctive soulful tone, honest lyrics and vibrant pop melodies showcase a natural talent reminiscent of James Bay, Paolo Nutini and Alabama Shakes.
His song writing drew attention on the London open mic scene and also that of producer Lewi White. An exciting collaboration began as they started writing and recording together in Lewi’s North London studio.
Writing, recording, and spreading his songs around the capital all through in 2016, led to his first UK tour in Spring 2017 ending by supporting Tinie Tempah in the ruins of Coventry Cathedral.
The summer saw him travel West to festivals Camper Calling and The Big Feastival, an event held on the cheese farm of ex-Blur bassist Alex James, all in the lead up to the release of his debut single ‘Ruby’.
His first release caught the attention of BBC Introducing and BBC Radio London gave Tom his first radio play. Lyrics such as –‘..too far to walk too far to run, my feet are broken.’ reference Tom’s retirement from professional rugby in 2014 due to injury, a significant turning point and catalyst to his creativity. While on the long road to recovery at university he rediscovered his unique voice, drawing on past and present experiences to hone his personal style.
