Two heavyweight stalwarts of the UK jazz/improv/experimental scene come together for a 6-date tour of the UK; Roller trio continuing their exploration of more electronic sounds and long-form soundscapes intertwined with heavy and raw grooves, with World Service Project launching their highly anticipated fifth album 'Hiding in Plain Sight', combining aching anthemic rock sounds with an unfashionable punk attitude and towering arrangements.

Worlds Service Project

Dave Morecroft (Keyboards / Vocals)
Ben Powling (Saxophone)
Arthur O’Hara (Bass / Vocals)
Luke Reddin-Williams (Drums)

Winners of the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award, WorldService Project are the leading specialists of ‘punk-jazz’, two of the most alarming genre titles in the history of 20th Century music.
?Anthemic melodies, hard-grooves and searing improvisation are packed into a tightly-knit and reluctantly superheroic package; discarding the old-guard uniforms of old, continuing the fight for collaboration and compassion…

‘...a work of great personality, a recognizable mix of chaos and discipline, of ferocity and humor, through which avant-funk, punk and free-jazz are dosed with wisdom. The band's shows are imbued with theatricality and a kind of cathartic energy and this intensity is rendered with particular mastery in this new chapter of their discography.’ - Musictraks.com (April 2018)

Roller Trio are a British jazz-rock trio formed in 2011. In 2012, their eponymous debut studio album was nominated for the Mercury Prize alongside a nomination for the band as "Best Jazz Act" at the MOBO Awards that year. In performance, John Fordham of The Guardian described their preview gig for the Mercury prize [as having] "the same wild insouciance that has made their sound a howl of fresh air.”

DJ and broadcaster Gilles Peterson described their music as "Dark, menacing, bass heavy – the new sound of UK jazzzzzzz!”

In May 2017, the band reformed with Shiver, TrioVD and Acoustic Ladyland guitarist Chris Sharkey replacing Luke Wynter; Their third album was released in June 2018 on Edition Records.
