London New Year’s Eve Fireworks - Accessibility

Please note that accessibility applications for London New Year's Eve Fireworks is now closed.

You have indicated that you or someone from your group may have some access requirements for this year's London New Year's Eve fireworks event.

To ensure you have a great time and that we meet your access requirements as closely as possible, we have set out two options for viewing the display. Please read this carefully in order to decide which option suits you best. You may then need to fill out the short form at the bottom of this page.

For either option you will still need to purchase your ticket(s) for this event from the previous page. The event may sell out quickly, so please purchase your event ticket first and then register for the accessible viewing area. You will need your booking reference number in order to complete your registration and you can come back to this page at any time.

Option 1

The first option is to view the display from one of the main viewing areas. These viewing areas will:
(the symbol '+' means it's a positive, and the symbol '-' means it's a negative)

  • + be based on the streets, and as the streets will be closed to traffic, you'll be able to use existing drop kerbs and the roads for step free movement, suitable for wheelchairs
  • + have accessible toilets located at toilet blocks and first aid points (depending on your location these may be up to 200m away)
  • + have a guaranteed view
  • + have professional stewards on hand for any queries you may have
  • +/- be suitable for most people arriving via public transport
  • - have no specific or dedicated space for people with access requirements
  • - require you to walk up to 2km before/after the event and to/from public transport
  • - not have any seating, nor permit attendees to enter with their own seating
  • - be busy with large, dense crowds surrounding the ticketed viewing areas, the entry points and inside the viewing areas
  • - be noisy, with music playing from the event sound systems. A hearing induction loop will not be provided.

If Option 1 is suitable, you don't need to do anything. We look forward to seeing you at the event.

If Option 1 meets your requirements, but you require a personal assistant with you on the night, please purchase a ticket for your assistant/s and then complete the form at the bottom of the page to request a refund (as Assistance Passes are free of charge).

Option 2

The second option is to view the fireworks display from our dedicated accessible viewing area located on the south side of the river on the Queen's Walk, next to Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and opposite the Houses of Parliament. This accessible viewing area will:

  • + be the closest viewing area to the event vehicle drop off (around 700m). This can be reached via roads and pavements with drop curbs, suitable for wheelchairs
  • + be less crowded than all other viewing areas
  • + have accessible temporary toilets
  • + have a first aid point
  • + have some seating provided, you can also bring your own fold up seating into the area
  • + have trained professional stewards on hand for any queries you may have on the night
  • - require you to travel up to 2km after the event to reach public transport (e.g. London Waterloo station)
  • - not have a hearing loop

**Please note, this area does have a side-on view of the fireworks display

The accessible viewing area offers an alternative option for people requiring vehicle drop offs, seating, or to be in a less crowded location for the event.

If you'd like to use the accessible viewing area please complete the form below after you have purchased tickets to any of the other firework viewing areas.

If you require a personal assistant with you on the night, please purchase a ticket for your assistant/s and then complete the form at the bottom of the page.
