Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning and heartfelt show I saw this in previews as I had seen the BBC 3 documentary it was based on. It is such a brilliant show about one boys stand against the norm and wanting to have a career outside the “normal but boring jobs” his school career advisor tells him. The lead character Jamie does live in his own world but it’s his world and you are drawn in sharing it with him. John McCrea is a fantastic singer and actor who nails the performance of Jamie. Strong support in the roles from his mum (he’s my boy) and school friend (the beautiful song )had me in tears. Please go to see if you like other harder edged musicals like Billy Elliott.
