Bournemouth Big Dog
What a night.
This young local band have been playing classic covers in and around Bournemouth and Poole for about a year, and it’s something they do well, but tonight they took a huge step forward, playing brand new previously unperformed self-penned tracks from their debut album.
It’s one thing churning out good old singalong classics, and the four piece band are extremely good at that, but an unsigned band of 17 and 18 year olds risking it in such a big way?
Simple and short answer, NO!
They were brave, polished and fearless as they belted out 10 new songs to a captivated crowd.
And anyone expecting anything as straight-forward as a set of samey generic fodder were treated to an array of exceptional played and well-crafted songs.
This band showed that they are not just another one-dimensional bunch of student rockers; they are technically quite brilliant for their age and have, in this body of new songs, managed to offer a depth and substance of lyrics and music that has maturity beyond their tender years.
The band possess a lead guitarist who plays with flair, technique and passion; a drummer who hits hard, fast, sharp and keeps driving the beat; a bass player, the newest member of the band, with plays with energy and enthusiasm
Throw in a highly competent front man holds the audiences attention without overstepping the fine line between confidence and arrogance and you have one heck of an exciting group of young men on a mission to deliver their music to the world.
Pay attention; 27 Days are one to watch!
