Rated 5 out of 5 by from ALVVAYS at Oxford It was a good gig, a sell out in a pub in Oxford, it seems they are bigger in the UK than they think they are, hopefully so more gigs here next year

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best concert I've ever attended! Okay so it's also the only concert I've been to, but still. The band were fantastic, their songs translated well to a live performance, during their most popular song people were jumping around so much it knocked out an amp, and we were treated to some great characters about Mark's and Spencers. Speaking of the crowd, there were some hardcore fans (such as myself) dancing and singing along to every word. Simply brilliant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb. Brilliant stuff from the Torontonian crew, playing a perfect mix of old and new. Perfectly suited to the venue and with a great crowd rapport.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great band but not good value for money. The band were good but I felt the whole thing was rushed as if they had to get finished early for some reason. The curfew was 9.45 and the gig seemed to end really abruptly. The band played for only an hour. Not great value for money, especially when the venue charges you £5 for a can of beer. Someone is laughing all the way to the bank for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gig Second time I've seen them and great fun, good mix of new and old songs, good atmosphere, and even a good support (Alaskalaska) - only criticism would be it was moved from Acadamy 2 (library) to 3 (temple), and the sound is often a bit iffy in 3, locals weren't as up in the mix as they could have been

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Far too hot I had seen Alvvays before and was looking forward to seeing them play their new material. What I wasn't expecting was a venue that was hotter than a sauna with an air con system that was either ineffective or not turned on. Even the security were fanning themselves in an attempt to stay cool.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from As if the 90's never happened. I'd heard Alvvays on a live session on radio 6 and enjoyed their sound. On hearing them live it was as if I had taken a step back in time to a Darling Buds gig. The songs are formulaic and bland. The venue is good with excellent sound and good views of the stage. I would recommend the venue but not the band. AS a side note, whoever booked the support must not have heard either band. It was cacophonus rubbish in a metal style'ish. So incongruent.
