What people are saying about Acoustic & Folk Music Picnic

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Relaxing afternoon in historic park and surroundings. I went to this event - the first of its kind at this location - on found it very relaxing and most enjoyable. It was set inside the historic ruins of Bradgate Hall - the former home of Lady Jane Grey (the Nine Days Queen) - which set it off the event ideally. The performers came from a wide variety of genre backgrounds but made for an interesting afternoon and evening. Sally Barker and O'Hooley & Tidow were especially good. There were plenty of toilets (all clean and well stocked with the necessaries!). There was also a pizza horsebox(!) called The Italian Stallion which oven cooked pizzas on site. There was even a children's activities area away from the stage where children could try playing a variety of instruments under instruction. All in all a great day and I look forward to next year's event.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Picnic In Bradgate Park With Music An enjoyable afternoon listening to some great folk music at Bradgate Park, with a picnic in the evening and good weather for a change. We all enjoyed the experience very much and look forward to next years event.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Family event! Attended this event with my husband and 10 year old daughter, it was absolutely brilliant, and we really enjoyed both the atmosphere and the music. We took a picnic and there was plenty of room to sit without being on top of other people - always a bonus! Just one thing, we could've made use of a tea and coffee provider without having to leave the site, but I think this has already been picked up by the organisers. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this event to anyone and plan to return next year!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sunday afternoon at bradgate park I went to this event with a friend, mainly to see SALLY BARKER and GOVANAN. Both these artists are amazing musicians, but the other musicians were surprisingly also very good. Sally Barker disappointed me as she spoke to the audience seemingly more than she sung. It was a shame. Hot drinks would be be great if the organisers do it again. Great venue. Good organisation Great loos Great value

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Picnic in the Park What better way to celebrate summer than with a picnic in the park? Bradgate Park in this case. Set in the ruins of Bradgate house where Lady Jane Grey lived as a child we were treated to some excellent music. Even the weather was kind to us until the early evening. I particularly liked The Way Out, a duo based down the road in Loughborough. Sally Barker and Govanen were a treat, too. Half the PA system crackled and died half way through Sally Barker's set but the sound crew quickly sorted it out and Sally soldiered on like a true professional. There was room for quite a few more people in the audience and the event would have benefitted from more art/craft/activity tents. More people would have created more of a festival buzz, I feel. Overall, though, a most enjoyable and well organised event.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful afternoon at Bradgate Folk Festival Had a really good time. The music was great, the atmosphere friendly, the event facilities good. Would've been even better if there was somewhere I could've bought a hot drink to help take the edge off the evening chill (our flask had run out!) but we managed without all the same. Great value for money and we would definitely go again!
