Amazing support artists
First up I want to say I adore Alex Lahey's music, really enjoy it. When she toured the UK last I was vocal about her coming to Newcastle Upon Tyne, especially having seen her support Tegan and Sara.
However, Alex didn't really engage at all. There was a small crowd which was absolutely gutting (I felt gutted for her and actually apologised when I spoke to her) but this seemed to be flagged off as the band being hungover.
Now I understand if there's a small crowd, but our tickets (and the times on the billing) said Lahey would play until 23:30. Not sure if the billing and the company got it wrong but I walked home (over a mile and I was tipsy) and grabbed some chips and it was only 23:20.
BIG but Alex Lahey sounds like she does on her recordings, because she's awesome. I just wish she had more of that stage magic :)

I thoroughly enjoyed being able to talk to the band about various music tech related things. My partner is a massive fan of them and has seen them quite a few times. She could never say a bad word against them! It was a great atmosphere and overall an amazing night. I look forward to seeing them soon when they tour the UK again!

She's the girl with all the tunes!
A delightfully hook laden evening with Alex treating us to one glorious rousing chorus after another. We get plenty of value with every track bar from her debut album bar “There’s No Money” - a shame as this rousing ballad would’ve been a great set closer – as well as the lot from her debut ep. Despite being a new name to most of the Bristol audience it is obvious that treading the boards in her native Australia has already turned Alex into an accomplished performer and she has plenty of charming and witty between song banter too. The girl can do no wrong!
