Amazing Art
Great night out in Guildford thanks to the atmospheric little venue which is the Boiler Room and the charismatic Art Brut front man Eddie who created such a remarkable ambience between band and crowd. My brain is still reverberating with the songs plus the mantras we had to shout out: 'Art Brut - Top of the Pops' and 'Tories - Out'.
Of course when I say 'songs' they were rather more like shouted lyrics, a sort of middle class Fall style but oh so effective.
Being probably the oldest person attending I was delighted to introduce the Art Brut show to my son who afterwards was raving to various friends about the venue and the gig.

Complete entertainment
Been meaning to see ART BRUT for yonks but it never seemed to happen. Made an effort this time round and travelled through to Gw especially. What a fantastic experience. Played tracks from new albaum and one or two classics, the icing being Arizona Bay which is full throttle and an absolute blast. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Wham Bam Pow
Art Brut smashed it on the last night of their tour at The Haunt in Brighton. The crowd were bouncing from start to finish and singing along to songs new and old.
Hope they come back soon.

What to say - best gig for such a long time. Don't leave it so long. Charlie Layton on drums too!

As feared, the loss of so much character has taken its toll
Freddy Feedback had an excuse for her absence, being on maternity, but the loss of Mikey and Jasper nearly ten years ago manifested as vividly as if they had left last month. Their successors did fine, but as I get older the more I am aware that it is character which is the irreplaceable contributor to a live performances and the mid-noughties line-up had it spilling over from all sides of the stage. Thanks for the memories. P.S. not playing Modern Art any more - poor.
