What people are saying about Black Midi

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unexpected and brilliant. My wife and I attended the gig and were blown away with how good the band are live.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great venue for an exciting new band I went to the gig with a mate who hadn’t heard any of Black Midi’s music and last went to Irish Centre 20 years ago. Excellent venue for a lively new band and young audience. It allowed us “oldies” to stand at the back and still get the music and atmosphere. Black Midi were exceptional - very exciting and the Sax player was superb.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Massive letdown Been looking forward to seeing Black Midi for a long time, after all the 6Music dj’s and others hyping them up. Wow what a spectacular load of Sh!te, the support act 111Japonia started it off, so awful & cringey he was funny. Then Black Midi, awful sound right across the board, to me it was way too much going on but just doesn’t work, many people where leaving before the end as I think they felt the same way, I should have followed but stayed till the end, massive mistake as that last song had me & others putting our fingers in our ears with the awful screeching sound of the saxophone, I like loud music but when it’s good but like the whole gig this was very far from good unfortunately.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rubbish gig Not the best. Irish Centre a terrible venue, stage too low, I can understand it selling out and moving to a bigger venue but the original choice of venue, the Brudenell would have been far better. Very hard to see the band unless you stayed right at the back or risked life and limb in the moshpit. ....and the band was self indulgent too.Too much self indulgence.Emperors new clothes.....London music media build up up, a couple of decent songs but otherwise extreme noise merchants

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gig From the classical music at the start to Fat Sam's at the end with Black Midi playing a stormer and the crowd loving it mosh pit and everything, took me back to my 20s he only grump was it was over too soon! T T dteve

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jazz Madness BMs sounds has really evolved since I saw them at End of the Road, as has their stage craft. An amazing set list with explored the edge of guitar noise and jazz fusion powered by saxophone and stellar drumming. A good crowd despite some stupid heckling. A great night out and defiantly a band to see again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst live band of all time Terrible. Art school drivel. Never again! Avoid at all costs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Possibly the best gig I have ever seen After finishing up album material, black midi decided to flow straight into about 30 minutes of psychedelic techno and I absolutely lost it! One of the best live bands out there right now.
