More Information about Black Moth

Black Moth rose from the Leeds underground scene, taking their kaleidoscopic heaviosity and their love for Stooges squalor, Sabbath sulphur and stoner vibes, to create an onslaught of monumental riff sorcery and serpentine grace. Their debut 'The Killing Jar' effortlessly transcended its influences to arrive at a nefarious and turbulent brew, equal parts horror movie atmosphere, thunderous drive and maverick spark, with Harriet Bevan's biting and beguiling voice leading the charge. It was a hit with fans and critics alike, even making it onto Kerangg's top 50 albums of the year, leading to a tour with Turbowolf, and stonking sets at Download and Desertfest amongst others. The 2nd album, produced like their first by Jim Sclavunos (Grinderman, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The Cramps) takes their kaleidoscopic heaviosity and sepulchral style to a whole new plateau of riff-driven dementia. They are a mesmerising proposition live too, as showcased by their recent stint as support on the Uncle Acid European jaunt. Catch them now while you can.

What people are saying about Black Moth

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great band spoilt by poor sound I love black moth and have wanted to see them for ages. But unfortunately the sound system in the venue reduced, not only the headliners, but the all the band's playing to indistinguishable white noise. In the end I left half way through the band's headline set as I didn't even know what song they were playing very disappointing as they are a really great band

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Black Moth - Definitely One to Watch! I love Black Moth, they are definitely one of my bands of 2017. They have such a cool sound, like Black Sabbath's little love children with Shirley Manson from Garbage. They are a band on the rise and one to watch for the coming year. This was a great gig in their hometown of Leeds, debuting some of the new tunes of the upcoming album. The new material was as strong as their biggest singles and promises awesome things for when the new album drops. They sounded really tight and played tune after tune - it was a bit of a shame that the crowd were not more into the show, especially for a Friday night, but I head-banged myself silly regardless. Loved the candlelit venue, but the more mainstream bar downstairs left a little to be desired. Was pleasantly surprised by and thoroughly enjoyed the support band Chambers and will definitely keep an eye out for them again in the future.
