What people are saying about British Halal Food Festival

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overcrowded I went to this event with my family and relatives. A good 15 of us and although we’re very happy with the variety of stalls and food available, the venue was lacking some what. The seating area/tent for eating your food was heavily over crowded and had to wait a good 30 mins to get a table. We had to swarm around a table for the occupants to finish before someone else had to do the same whilst we were eating. The queues for some of the popular stands were appallingly long. I really struggled to get around with a pushchair. Definitely a case of quantity over quality. Poor organisation on the event planners part although I’m sure it was very lucrative.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed with venue. I went with family members who came from as far as Cardiff. we we’re very disappointed with venue. It was too small for amount of people that attended. We were expecting an indoor arena as well as outdoor space with double the amount of stalls and better seating and prayer facilities. Due to a large number of people we could not see what each stall was selling or making. As we were so hungry we just queued at any stall for food! Most food stalls had long queues of waiting time of at least 40mins. The cooking stage was placed next to the prayer area, meant noisy for those praying. The prayer area was poorly set up no Wudu facilities! All seating areas were taken! No where to sit and eat our food so we had to sit on the tarmac ground with kids and babies behind a food stall to eat our food! So you can see we were disappointed and it was not worth the entry price ticket! So very disappointed and it would’ve been worthwhile and value for money if our family met up and went to a restaurant in Birmingham for the day! ( we did hear some people leaving and saying this! ) So you can tell we weren’t happy with event! Few good points that you had some good food stalls e.g Churros who had the longest queue which people didn’t move from even when it rained heavy for 10mins - which was the best part of the event!!! good concept-

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Birmingham Halal Food Festival Food prices were horrendous ,queuing system was anything from 45mins to 1hour &20mins for most stalls, service was as slow as the built up traffic around the area. Venue was not the best for a event like this. Quiet disappointed to be honest to the many food festivals i have visited over the last few weeks this was the most expensive and slowest service on most of the stalls i have seen.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wasn't what I expected I went to this event with family and I must say that we were all very disappointed. Finding Parking was easy and enjoyed some of the food , but not many other positives. Not much to do with kids. Too many stalls selling frozen food which can easily be purchased in supermarkets. Not as good , or even close to the similar event held in London . Oh well...at least I have my German Donner vouchers to enjoy lol.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Halal food festival Birmingham Many stalls sold out quickly, queues managed badly, looked scruffy and run down and looked unclean, childrens area rubbish, food options pretty poor, stalls tiny, stage areas small and not very clean looking. Organisers need to take inspiration from the cannon hill food festival, so much better. Not worth it and should have been on longer than 1 day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Money NOT well spent Altogether 6 adults cost a fortune plus 4 children who got free entry attended the festival. We literally paid to go in and leave straight away. A minimum of 45 minute waiting times to eat at the remotely decent stalls. 1hour and 30 minutes for one of the stalls, queues were totally disorganised, hardly any seating area or tables the whole thing was a mess. We have since left and gone to a restaurant, all of us could have eaten at a decent restaurant for the price we paid just to get in with starters and mains with hot food served to us at the table. Please bare in mind that aside from paying entry into the festival you then have to pay for the food at stalls which would have had to be eaten standing around in the pouring rain. I would give this zero stars if I could but unfortunately 1 star is the minimum. I have tried to find contact details for the organisers so I can email them too.
