What people are saying about Camden Rocks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic day out for ROCK MUSIC The sun was shining when we arrived at THE WORLDS END Pub to collect our wristband and we only had to queue for around 10 minutes then we were off to the pub bar to plan our day. Access to the venues was good, there was a little wait for some bands, and the inevitable decision to decide an alternative show, but CAMDEN is rich with places for live music (and Pubs), so either option were never a chore. plenty of places to snack centrally too, Camden Lock Market has food from all over the world, so curry, Pizza or just chips were not too far away. Highlights were: DUCKING PUNCHES @ Underworld, new to Camden Rocks, with good songs, in particular "SIX YEARS" from their 'Dance Before You Sleep' cd - 'a moving song about loss of someone taking their own life' AMORETTES @ The Monarch .. (they go from strength to strength) at a lovely intimate venue, and they did not disappoint and played songs from their latest release and back catalogue; MASSIVE WAGONS were 'on point' playing to a rapturous crowd, filled to capacity upstairs at the Camden Assembly; MEN THEY COULDN'T HANG were a little late starting (thanks to an unwanted wheel clamp) but the home crowd at GABETO were familiar with their material and very forgiving from the start. ECHOBELLY @ FEST were very good, playing crowd pleasers and a perfectly balanced sound through the P.A. Former frontman from Black Spiders, PETE SPIBY had his new band THE BEAT ALLS, @ The Monarch, but were a little shakey, maybe as its their first gig, but hopefully this will improve next time around. So .. looking forward to next year .. and I am really pleased to hear that it will be a 2 DAY EVENT too .. much too much to try and cram in for one day, but will the Sunday be an exact repeat of the Saturday? (fine if it is, by the way - see comment above) OR completely different OR slightly different bands? If its slightly different, that works too. Carry on CAMDEN ROCKS TEAM ... you have all done a fantastic job organising this yeay and I will definitely be getting my ticket for 2019 !! Steve Giles (Aylesbury)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best festivals in the UK We actually came to see We Are One a new upcoming band but actually we were constantly debating who to see next as the event was that good a line up. We Are One were on top of their game rocking the bar relentlessly. Hats off to the event organisers as this was really excellent all round from start to end. Thanks for the top day really enjoyed it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reigning Days were brilliant I’ve seen RD several times but thiswas their best show yet. This was their album launch show and they showcased their new songs including a hauntingly beautiful piano solo version of Chemical sung by Dan Steer. the new bassist Elliot Elmer in his debut show fitted in like he had been part of the band since day 1 and brought great energy to the stage. Dan Steer’s vocals were top notch and Joe’s drumming held it all together. It was a great way to spend Friday night.
