A voice so much more than Carole King Musical
I discovered the album ‘Cassidy’, following seeing the artist Cassidy Janson perform a brilliant rendition as Florence in Chess at the ENO.
For me ‘Cassidy’ the album is my album of this summer. It is genuinely an album like a box of chocolates, sultry, laid back, up tempo, reflective and optimistic, a real joy.
So hearing that Cassidy was going to perform live, I and my partner had to attend The Bush Hall, great iconic setting which was the perfect backdrop for this event.
What a voice, what a perfect rendition of the highlight tracks. One became that nights head loop which has constantly been there ever since (always a good sign).
Loved it, intimate, special and Cassidy’s persona really did come across so well, we were all her best friends for the night.
Obviously Cassidy is so well known for her portrayal as Carole King in Beautiful (from which she sang 2 tracks) but for me she is an artist so much bigger than just the west end.
Waiting for details of the next live appearance.
