What people are saying about Cattle & Cane

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cattle & Cane: Lighting Up The Dark Nights A chilly night outside, but inside the Tyne Theatre there's nothing but warmth from the breathtakingly brilliant Cattle & Cane. How are they not household names yet? Helen Hammill is one of the best singers in the land, and her vocals on Lonely Room from new album Navigator, and the absolute drop dead gorgeous highlight Love On Your Hands from Mirrors were worth the entry price alone. Further highlights were opener 7 Hours from Mirrors; Mexico and Leave The Light On from Navigator, with an entertainingly literal explanation for the latter song; the achingly beautiful Dancing from first album Home; the tribute to their Teesside roots Infant Hercules; plus Sold My Soul and the Poacher, also from their first album, and those last three songs in particular had the crowd singing their hearts out. It was also great to hear the band talk about the new album, and their love of the music and being out playing their songs really shone through, adding to the joy of being there with them. Tonight was a glorious triumph from a band that just keeps going from strength to strength. Buy the albums, thrill to the songs, and catch them quick before they're off packing out stadiums.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cattle & Cane - The Tyne Theatre & Opera House 8/11/19 The venue had excellent acoustics which enhanced the concert for me. The support band were very good & quite apt to Cattle & Cane’ s style. Cattle & Cane played a fantastic set. Mixing their new album with their classics made for a great night. I purchased the new album immediately after the gig. Top top band with top top people. Teesside’s finest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not miss this band Having heard quite a bit in the last 12 months, I acquired all their earlier stuff ahead of the tour & new album release. Although I'd been mightily impressed by the recording, I was completely blown away by the live show last night. Joyful, heartbreaking, heartwarming & filled with fun. The songs are beautifully crafted, the vocal harmonies enquire & the rapport with the audience pitched perfectly. And then you meet the Hamills after the show & see that they really ARE as charming & delightful as you could ever imagine. Can't wait till next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Group My first time seeing Cattle and Cane Wednesday gone in the quirky and interesting venue the Hare and Hounds in Birmingham. They were amazing and such humble and lively people. I think their songs Neighbourhood and Mexico on their new CD Navigation are going to make it big. Thank you Cattle and Cane.....now a big fan of yours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a gem of a night Never been to Castle Hotel, Manchester before. What a quirky but great little venue. To then be graced with a hour or so of Cattle and Cane made for a wonderful night. Just a lovely talented trio that give their all to what is clearly a growing and loyal fan base this side of the Pennines. New material sounded great. As lovely as it is to see great live bands in intimate venues, can't help thinking that Joe and Helen deserve far greater recognition than the 100 or so that turned up. Here's hoping they do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best gig of the year Such a brilliant live band! This was the second time I'd seen them and they surpassed themselves. Soaring melodies from a humble band with a huge live sound that's far better than the recorded version!
