What people are saying about Courtney Marie Andrews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Something Special Every so often in life you meet people or hear music that stands out as special. Courtney Marie Andrews achieves both of these. Her observations on life that transition into her songs are sublime, her deliver was perfect, her band gave her everything to make the evening a night to remember. Thanks Courtney

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you like Americana, you will like this! This is the second performance I have seen this year and both have been very good. Her voice can vary - on Irene it resembles Joni Mitchell, on Kindness of Strangers it has the power of Dolly Parton. Early on she did Near You, Table for One and How Quickly Your Heart Mends, indicating that they were four years old, so perhaps she is moving on from them. She did May Your Kindness Remain, as well as Kindness of Strangers and others songs from the latest album. She also did one new song if I remember right. She also did at least one song from On My Page. Courtney gets on with it - she made the occasional comment, stopped and reset the sound, and started the song again when there was feedback, but you get a full set of music. I gather from the merchandise stall that she was not well, and had a sore throat, but I cannot say I noticed when she was performing. The venue was Talking Heads, in Southampton, which holds perhaps 100 to 150 if full, and it was pretty close to full. It is reasonably comfortable - I was able to sit, which I find good nowadays, and it was well staffed, particularly the bar!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An absolute class act . Star Quality personified . I attended this gig with my partner. Courtney Marie is a class act , every song performed brilliantly and backed by a tight band . She deserves to have a much higher profile as her songwriting and performing is top class . I’m not a fan of this venue ( The Arts Centre Liverpool ) however and the bar prices are a total rip off . Hopefully next time she tours she will be able to fill better venues

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Getting better every time - superb Second time we have seen CMA at this venue. Great performance with a very tight band. Less acoustic and heavier band sound showing off tracks from the new album. Great night. She was good enough to stay behind and autograph merchandise too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brudenell Great venue, brilliant sound, rocking band and the best singer/songwriter to emerge for years. Alone with guitar/piano or fronting the band, Courtney Marie was mesmerising...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stand out performance from Courtney! Courtney Marie Andrews and her excellent band gave a standout performance. Courtney shows astonishing maturity for a 28 year old and unlike some of her peers shows true loyalty to her country roots whilst putting her own individual stamp on her material. Showcasing songs from her latest album, May Your Kindness Remain, as well as earlier stuff she gave a bravura 90 minute performance. She certainly deserves a bigger venue. The Assembly Rooms is a strange hybrid of a venue-standing downstairs and seating above which creates a fractious atmosphere especially during the support act. Having said that, TJohnwain, the support act, was truly dreadful. But Courtney she surely must go on to bigger and better things.
