What people are saying about Drive By Truckers

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 70,s Boogie nights return As a musical sub genre Southern Boogie seemed to die away with the plane crash of Lynyrd Skynyrd in 77. However with a recent album based on LS and a last album rattling along with deep south sounds and a triple guitar attack it would appear that the Boogie is back. The student hall at Bristol was filled mostly with a crowd who would at least attempt to remember the 70's and the band hit the straps straight away with a set calling on their recent album heavily. The sound quality and the playing was exceptional as the band shared out lead duties. Towards the end they announced that by not wasting time with chatting and with no encore they had crammed in 2-3 more songs. Whilst this is commendable it did lead to a slightly impersonal affair and we left feeling we knew the band no more than we had when we entered.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the DBT Third time I've seent he DBT. They were typically shambolic, but that's part of their charm - 3 guitars solos going on, ever smiling bass player and a poe faced drummer. Love the Anson Rooms, though where were the students? The sound quality was pretty poor, not sure if it's the engineer or the PA? Need to get that sorted!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favourite night of the Uk tour Went to see the drive by truckers at all 4 venues in England this March. Have to say the concorde 2 venue was the smallest (600 capacity) but it was my favourite of all 4 events. It was a totally packed , sold out, event. It may have only been March but the heat inside was rising - just look at the sweat dripping off of Patterson Hood's face. Excellent sound system for the size of venue - its just a shame the event had a 10PM curfew (all the other 3 were 11PM). Found out it was for the locals having a disco or whatever they want to call it now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not great This is the third time I've seen the truckers but the first time in over 10 years. The band were tight and all was good. From my own personal perspective the set list was a bit lacking. I really like the new album and the songs off that were great. But 2 tracks each from blessing and a curse and English oceans but nothing off dirty south? Also although they played 4 tracks from southern..they weren't my favourites. So, overall good but I would have preferred the set list from the previous night
