More Information about Evita

"FORGET EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT EVITA: THIS ONE PROPERLY ROCKS" (Time Out) From a life of poverty to spiritual leader of the nation, Eva Perón was loved, hated, derided and venerated. Dividing the Argentinian people with her patriotic speeches, her ambition, glamour and magnetism established "Evita" as the world's first major political celebrity. A turbocharged, transformative revival(Daily Mail), Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's sell-out production of Evita comes to the Barbican for 8 weeks only. With a chart-topping score including Don't Cry For Me Argentina, Oh What A Circus, Another Suitcase in Another Hall, and the Oscar-winning You Must Love Me, Jamie Lloyd directs Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical. Casting to be announced.

What people are saying about Evita

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awe inspiring performances in a stunningly innovative production We saw Evita at Regents Park Open Air and we were blown away by this exciting production. The familiar songs were beautifully performed accompanied by numerous inventive elements in costume, set design and choreography. We loved it from start to finish!! It had a new urban twist but retained all of its original appeal. There seem to be many negative reviews which date from several years ago, but this recent open air production was on in 2019 and is the one going to The Barbican. It seems likely to be similarly stunning in this new setting!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing emotion I saw the final show of Evita last night . The show was gripping , emotional and story telling at its best . All the performers gave their best performances, extremely professional. I don't want to single out any one of the cast , they were all exceptional . Quite rightly the audience gave an upstanding ovation, that seemed to last a long time . I first saw thing show a long time ago when it first came to the theatre , I was wow,d then and once again the show last night took my breath away , amazing ..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The best 'Another Suitcase In Another Hall' The show is well organized with beautiful scenes. The cast performance is flawless, definitely on the 'international tour level'. But what really inpressed me, profoundly, was the girl singing 'Another Suitcase In Another Hall'. I think she just sang that one song and never appeared on the stage again. I have been to a number of musicals and moved by hundreds of amazing live singings. I have to say, that girl's performance made me fall in love.
