What people are saying about Grace Petrie

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grace's Lefty Christmas had us all singing! I hadn't seen Grace live before but had been a fan for some years now. The opportunity to see her perform live in London was an opportunity I couldn't miss. The support acts were great too, I recommend Colour Me Wednesday and their stoic lyrics have a whimsical political tinge to them, plus some of the catchiest chorus hooks you will hear today. Compere Robin Ince kept the proceedings flowing nicely between acts. Grace came on confident and happy. The crowd sang along to every song. Not just in the choruses but they seemed to know all the words to every song. A particular highlight for me was "Say Farewell To Welfare". The encores included some Irish dancing and a rousing rendition of the Christmas tune "Fairy Tale of New York". An earnest handshake and a heartfelt "Thank You for coming" from Grace herself at the door from the hall made this a special evening, one to be cherished.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful overall, but disappointing for disabled audience members I want to start this by saying the event was wonderful, the music was wonderful and the atmosphere was magic. But I want to give some feedback about disability provision. My sister has an illness which means she is unable to stand for long periods of time. This was fine at first when we sat on the floor, but midway through the event everybody stood up and the result was that her view was the back of people's knees, whereas naturally she'd paid to see the acts and felt rather frustrated. I want to recommend having a small area at the front for those who aren't able to stand, where they can sit. That way all those who want to stand and dance can still see from behind, and those who can't do so can still see.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a find this young woman is. I first saw Grace on the Lefty Scum tour in the Dancehouse in Manchester and was hooked. The Night and Day Cafe was even better. The venue is brilliant for live performances, and Grace and her supporting act did not disappoint. Her political songs for me hit the nail squarely on the head. The venue was quite intimate, and Grace mingled with the crowd, chatting and sitting with the audience. Overall, a great night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super awesome Grace Petrie is funny, talented and modest. Surprisingly loud for how small she is. Wonderfully suited for the intimate venue. Perfect for the angry lesbian in your life, even if you don't know you have one yet. A++ would reccommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Few things are better for the Heart and Soul, than a Grace Petrie gig. Beautiful venue, good value tickets, helpful ticket line. Gig was wonderful, great warm up acts. The songs were Marvellous, Grace was amazing as Always, and the band were fantastic. Loved the foam. So good to be amongst people who knew the songs, shared faith in the same things, and were all so full of love and happiness to be there. Excellent night. Venue staff were fast, and helpful, and toilets were clean and nice. Staff member instantly found a chair when I said my friend needed one, and stuck us near the front so we still could see. The whole thing did me a Universe of good. Thank you. The above is in reference to Bush Hall gig.
