An amazing evening of rock!
Having seen great shows with other ex-Rainbow singers, the bar was set high for the Graham Bonnet Band - and they did not disappoint. Graham is in fine voice for a 68-year-old, he has a great band with him, and the setlist represented his career very well.
Although I wasn't familiar with his Alcatraz and Michael Schenker Group material, many others in the audience were - and indicated their approval very vocally! I must check out some of those songs myself....
The ones I knew and loved were Night Games and SOS from Graham's "Line-Up" album c.1981, also I was delighted to see Graham's band play Only One Woman from Graham's "Marbles" band c.1968. My favourites were the Rainbow songs that Graham sang on the Down To Earth album c.1979 : Eyes Of The World, All Night Long, Love's No Friend, Since You Been Gone and the set came to an absolutely storming close with Lost In Hollywood.
The sound overall was excellent - not over-loud, and very well-balanced
I must also mention one of the support bands "Desolation Angels" - their great riffy rock was a treat for the ears too!
