What people are saying about Haunt the Woods EP LAUNCH at Carnglaze Caverns

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb gig!! The best gig I've been to in ages. Two good support acts, followed by the wonderful Haunt The Woods sounding and playing the best I've heard them. And to cap it all this took place in the amazing Carnglaze Cavern. What a magical and different venue! So pleased I went

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HTW - Absolutely Brilliant Every time we see Haunt The Woods they are outstanding, enchanting us with their spell binding lyrics, music and harmonies. Playing in Carnglaze Cavern with expert sound from Bruce and an amazing light show captured professionalism all round. Jon’s vocal range is amazing, Phoenix is a guitar master, Olly is always smiling whilst capturing the beats with perfection and Jack looks and sounds great harmonising with Jon and on keys and guitar. Looking forward to seeing you all at your next show.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another truly stunning performance Never miss a chance to see HTW, arguably one of the best young prog rock bands in the country, and still a bit of an undiscovered treasure even here in their native Cornwall. I've never known them not give a first rate performance, and this was no exception. Exceptional musicianship, singing, and songwriting, even in a larger, less intimate venue than the more intimate ones they really shine in. A band this subtle depend very heavily on the sound being right, and it was first rate too. The Trees were a well matched support too - they'll be a band to watch, some very interesting arrangements, though still perhaps casting around for a style that really fits their talents. Impressive though for 4 girls just six months in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! What a ride! I haven't seen Haunt the Woods for a while. I enjoyed their last EP (in fact, it's constantly being played on my mp3 player) and was looking forward to a treat. There were two fantastic warm up acts - The Trees had beautiful harmonies and did great things to one of my faves "I went down to the river to pray", this particular track was sung by a lady with a voice to die for and then Jamie Yost and the band continued the theme...shame about the feedback from the snare...but then a very excited 500 strong audience were in for a real treat. Haunt the Woods were amazing - they've matured so much and the lead singer doesn't just sing - he performs his work. I was trying to think of the word but then saw it in another review - with "crazed" eyes he sang his heart out and reached deep inside your soul. At times he reminded me of Tom Yorke (one of my faves) and he has a reach across the octaves that Freddie Mercury would have been happy with. AND he knows how to use a microphone to great effect. All guitarists and drummer were very polished but the lead guitarist burnt his frets with the fastest solos I've seen for some time whilst looking like he was standing in a bus queue. The charismatic bass player was hard to ignore (what do you do to your hair!? It's gorgeous!), in fact, the lead singer had to remind members of the audience that were trying to grab his attention that "he's working at the moment". At one point, this guy lets go of his bass to tinkle the ivories on the keyboard. The drummer was exceptional - with beats that worked their way up from your feet to the depths of your heart. All in all, a fantastic gig in a beautiful (if cold - this time I was prepared though) venue...can't wait to see them again - and listen to Jamie Yost and The Trees some more. Thank you to all involved - fabulous.
