What people are saying about Jarrod Dickenson

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful, as always. This is the third time I've seen Jarrod Dickenson. It was a small gig, without a band but with Clare Dickenson on backing vocals and occasional percussion. Jarrod's promoting his excellent new album, Ready the Horses. Standout songs were the haunting California (I was singing it in my head all the way home).and a surprising cover of George Michael's Faith. Fab.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Americana comes to St. Pancras. A wonderful event in the highly atmospheric St Pancras Old Church. Two support acts, Swan Levitt (Sufjan Stevens-esque) and Cariad Harmon (with Grandmother in tow assisted by Jarrod and Claire) set the tone. Then Jarrod himself, performing with wife Claire. A wonderfully varied set featuring mainly his own compositions but with nods to Tom Petty and, entirely acoustically, George Michael. Evocative, storytelling songs delivered beautifully. Check him out either in this format or with full band as seen previously. Gung around long enough afterwards to chat and sign. Well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cracking location. Top quality music. After sampling the delights of the wonderful upstairs bar, we spent a brilliant couple of hours listening to the (as usual) stunningly talented Jarrod Dickenson.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent music played by a talented musician The Deaf Institute is perfectly set up for a musician such as Jarrod Dickinson. It has good acoustics and is an intimate venue, enabling the crowd to see him and hear his music clearly. His music is excellent, the gentle ballads such as 'Come What May' mingling easily with the sterner social commentary 'No Work For A Working Man' and some of the new songs ('Way Past Midnight') from his yet to be released album . The songs range from love songs to folk tales to political statements. These intermingled with his crowd conversations and the support of his wife on backing vocals made for an excellent evenings entertainment. I have now seen Jarrod as a solo artist and with his band. His music lends itself to both modes. I look forward to his next tour and the release of his next album as these are on my to do list. As the title states: 'Excellent music played by a talented musician'.
