What people are saying about Jo Harman

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great night out I went on my own as I didn't want to miss an opportunity to see Jo live. Really great evening...heaps of atmosphere and no over staging........beautiful voice even more stunning in person than on recordings :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Strictly for elderly types Very boring evening for me . Although she tries I felt uncomfortable watching her I suppose some people reckon her but I honestly can't see it. She comes off like a Blue Peter presenter trying to be down with the kids except the "kids" all have bus passes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favourite events of the year so far I went to Marine Theatre alone and The concert was amazing! Beautiful theatre and location.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meh Its quite a dramatic performance, lots of serious artist "sincerity".I suspect there were a few stand ins in the band that night as quite a few tunes seemed sloppy and under rehearsed. Too many slow songs for a good night out, bit self indulgent for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great If this is the best EVER European blues soul singer then I'm missing something. Some gigs leave you feeling enriched excited inspired etc. This was the exact opposite ! Fortunately there are actually some awesome new UK Soul singers coming through who are a million miles away from this. Personally not a blues fan but she didn't sound anything like my idea of blues to me. A lot of elderly types there seemed to mildly enjoy it to be fair, hence 2 stars otherwise I would give it 1.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for me Songs are mostly dull and her performance strangely uncomfortable to watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The voice Following Jo's gig at the Borderline with her full band this was a showcase for her voice with just a pianist for accompaniment. And what a performance this was an outstanding vocal range with the emotion to match from start to finish faultless performing mostly material from her most recent album with the occasional interpretation of classic songs including an outstanding interpretation of Carole Kings " will you still love me tomorrow " The start of the second set began with an accappella version of a traditional spiritual song and finish with a couple of Michael McDonald tunes to finish the concert All in all an outstanding evening of singing by one best female vocalist in recent times. Her most recent album people we've become is certainly worth a listen and is getting a lot of AirPlay especially on the Robert Elmes show who was there to introduce Jo to the assembled audience.
