What people are saying about John Otway

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still daft after all these years I have seen John over the years and was grateful to enjoy a great night at the Brudenell Social Club watching John continuing to entertain in his own unique way. I was very pleased to hear some new songs as well as his back catalogue of TWO chart hitS (note - the S is at the right end of the word hit). The show was ably opened by The Captain of the Lost Waves, I'd never heard him before but he is well worth a listen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A perfect venue for the man John Otway flourishes in a small, receptive venue such as the Con Club. This was precisely the sort of intimate show that makes the best of both the performer and the location. Anyone who has still to witness the wonders of Otway should grab the opportunity now while he's still young enough to tour!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Otway on fire I first saw Otway at the Reg Maxwell hall, Friars Club, Aylesbury, in 1981. I was 14. 36 years later, most of the songs remained the same. And so did the energy. Even though it was a case of "Cor Baby, I'm An OAP"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The energy of this man! My girlfriend hadn't seen John before so I was relieved when I saw her smiling and laughing with his antics. No swearing required, this gentle man captivated the audience for over an hour before going off stage after two great encores, for a lie down hopefully. Exactly a month older than me John is still able to throw himself about the stage like a spring chicken, headless of course!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely utterly brilliant! Great to hear both of the hits -- and the new stuff is great!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Otway still delivers Seen him at least a dozen times, solo, big band, Mad-Bad-Dangerous and always end up belly laughing - with the rest of the audience - his charming naivety and timing is the perfect foil to his cleverly crafted songs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've seen. Undoubtedly the best I've seen in many a long year. We are still talking about it. Well done John. See you again soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from John Otway did it his way John Otway at the Globe in Cardiff last night was his ever amazing self. A brilliant set delivered with his usual self effacing humour and impeccable timing. In my group were two ‘Otway virgins’. They came away converted. His gentle presence off-stage, chatting to us before he went on, was transformed into a manic performer once he was behind the mics (very ably assisted by “Deadly” the roadie). one of my best gigs of 2017.
