The second night of Cooljazz features Kings Of Convenience, the Norwegian duo that takes the stage of COOLJAZZ for a musical journey through their discography. The band’s music is composed of indie influences, folk-pop, acoustic tune, some references to bossa nova and always a live surprise. Golden Slumbers, the Portuguese band that opens the main stage of COOLJAZZ. The folk duo, composed by the sisters Cat and Margarida Falcão, present their last album "I LoveYou, Crystal" (released in 2022) at the 18^th edition of COOLJAZZ. One of the winners of the Cooljazz by Smooth FM Talent Contest will be presented at Cascais Jazz Sessions Stage by Smooth FM.

In 2000, Erlend Oye and Eirik Glambek Boe founded the Kings of Convenience. Since then they have gained a very solid fanbase all over the world and particularly in Portugal. This summer, the Kings of Convenience will present their particular music, in a setting as peculiar as the COOLJAZZ Festival. “Peace or Love” (2021) is the latest work edited by the Kings of Convenience, produced over five years, by five different cities. “Quiet Is the New Loud" (2001) was the first album released by the duo. Followed by "Riot on an Empty Street" (2004), an album that allowed the Kings of Convenience to enter Billboard’s Independent Albums Chart in the United States, "Declaration of Dependence" (2009), the band’s third album (after a five-year break) that includes themes such as "Mrs Cold” and "Boat Behind".  In 2023, COOLJAZZ hosts the Kings of Convenience, for a concert that travels through the career of the two guitarists and vocalists, bringing the subtle mystique that won the national audience.  

Golden Slumbers with new work that includes the singles "I LoveYou , Crystal " , "South America" and "Man OfTheHour" and reflects four years of rediscovery of sound identity, presenting the artistic intention of the band. Influenced by artists such as Simon and Garfunkel, Laura Marling and Fleetwood Mac, the duo makes use of vocal harmonies and guitars to create songs that speak of love, family dynamics and being a woman.

Golden Slumbers "I love you, Crystal" is the name of their new single, which arrives on digital platforms on November 26^th. This song also gives name to the folk duo’s second long-running album, composed by the sisters Cat and Margarida Falcão, which will be released in the first quarter of 2022.
This release marks the return of the Golden Slumbers to the editions, after having released "The New Messiah" (on records) in 2016. The period since then has been marked by the incursion of Cat and Margarida for their side projects, Monday and Vaarwell, which featured several releases over the past few years. 

COOLJAZZ has 3 concerts per night

It starts at 8 pm with the Cascais Jazz Sessions by Smooth FM, then follows the First Concert on the main stage and ends with the Headliner Concert on the main stage. You can consult the festival schedule, at cooljazz.pt
