What people are saying about Laurence Fox

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favourite gig so far this year! First time at the Oslo Hackney. Fantastic place! You go upstairs to the stage. Very intimate. Brilliant sound. Lawrence Fox was amazing! Loved his voice and all the songs, plus a good bit of humor inbetween set list.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic night. The night started brilliantly when Kirk McElhinney took the stage and performed his wonderful songs. He communicated well with the audience and warmed them up for Laurence Fox. Lawrence's set was awesome and his interaction was awesome. Would definitely see both acts again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fa music, underwhelming venue Excellent concert for the musical content and entertainment value. Really enjoyed the support act, Kirk McInerney, I think. Very enjoyable with good original music and self-effacing humour. Laurence and band really know how to entertain. Fab set with banter and laughs. He plays with some great musicians who are more than back-up. Heartily recommend seeing them if you can. The only thing that let the whole evening down was the poor venue. The sound equipment wasn't up to the job, which was obvious from the first number played by Kirk McI, and the acoustics were terrible. Once Laurence came on he asked repeatedly for changes in balance and his own feedback. My local folk clubs do a better job and we don't pay to attend those. The toilets left a lot to be desired too. Only one out of four of the women's toilets locked! There is so much chewing gum stuck to the floor it looks like part of the pattern and there is a lot of old graffiti carved into the doors and sprayed on the walls. The ceiling in the performance area is coming apart and all the decor looked tired at best. The bar was more than adequate and not overly priced, the bar staff did a good job and were efficient and friendly, though no cocktails which is odd given the venue generally is advertised as a cocktail bar. We were not encouraged to bring drinks back from the front bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Laurence Fox Gig @ The Deaf Institute, Manchester. An intimate gig in an atmospheric venue with a bang on performance from Laurence & fellow band members.
