What people are saying about Long Division Festival 2018

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a day! This has some really awesome venues on the list this year. Some of which I had never heard of. Some of the venues were a bit quiet at times for some of the bands which were a shame as there were some excellent bands on as well as the spoken word stuff. We had a great time! If anything not enough time!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Time for long division to say goodbye? I have been to the last 3 long division festivals instead of live at leeds. I have enjoyed the make do and mend DIY nature of Long Division in the past as there was a positive upbeat feel about it. However this year it seemed a little sad if im honest. We didnt stay till the evening acts, which is obviously where the primary focus was. I think do to the closure of Unity Works, no longer using the church, theatre, or the orangery the festival has lost something. Watching Thomas and the empty orchestra in the back room of a church 10 mins walk out the town in front of a dozen people really summed it up for me. This was probably my last Long Division festival. I did see 2 of my favourite gigs at Long Division previously, Her Name is Calla @ the Theatre and Sam Airey in the church were brilliant. Thanks Matt

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back with a bang! After the ‘fallow’ year of 2017, I was thrilled that LD18 had something a little different to offer, alongside some traditional LD bands and venues. The cathedral was the big change this year and that stage didn’t disappoint; excellent band selections meant that the stage bore witness to acts old and new in a respectfully and sonically effective environment. Stunning!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best Me and the hubby always try to go to this event a) because it's in our home City b) because it's excellent value for money and c) because Long Division is just brilliant. We had two fabulous days (sat/sunday) and the idea to include more venues awesome, the stand out one for us was Wakefield Cathedral, oh my what a venue awesome sound, beautiful ancient building which created an awesome atmosphere, just fabulous We also went to the Magic of the Beatles on Sunday, just brilliant! We went home after the last act on Saturday night feeling shattered after eleven hours but absolutely proud that our City could put something like this on, Thank you and well done to all!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An event i've never done before but now will never miss What can I say except brilliant, watching bands in a cathedral, with a beer in my hand, just amazing, the venues are all within walking distance, the crowds up for it & everywhere buzzing, although the bands were not massive names, it is the atmosphere that makes it, just a great day out. Would highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Event! Such a great festival! The whole of Wakefield was buzzing! The event was very well organised and it was fab to go to venues such as The Red Shed and St Austin’s Theatre. The cathedral looked amazing all lit up inside for Billy Bragg! Such a great day had by me and my friends! Can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great line up, really good venues First good gig I’ve been to in a church - maybe helped by the bar! Cathedral provided dramatic backdrop for the wonderful King Creosote and Billy Bragg. Warehouse 23 is great venue, excellent sound quality. Loved Cud slang Galaxians. Shame the nice beer ran out early though. Very convenient set of venues close to station so great access. Will def go again
