What people are saying about Manchester Music Tours

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great way to see Manchester On Saturday 15th December 2017 I went on the Oasis Tour, and after a couple of early hic-ups I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Our tour bus arrived a little late, but we were entertained with acoustic interpretations of Oasis tunes by a guest guitarist and a DJ set by Clint Boon. The bus was a classic ‘open back’ affair, chilly (it is December in Manchester) but a great experience. Unfortunately we hit road works and traffic (it is the second to last Saturday before Christmas). Nevertheless, we were soon at the site of the Boardwalk, then off to Johnny Roadhouse Music and then on to Burnage, the streets the boys grew up on, and naturally to Sifter’s record shop. The tour was a trip down memory lane and a chance to contextualise the music that we love and listen to. John Robb was our guide, he was friendly, approachable and knows Manchester and its music inside out. I had a great time being driven through the streets of Manchester, nostalgic on so many levels. Good luck on future tours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fun way to spend an afternoon! Tours of famous folk weren't my cup of tea, however after spending a entertaining three hours in the company of Rose and John Robb it's changed my opinion, the day was full of info, facts and trivia, the bus was fun, and really enjoyed being driven places I'd never actually been before, John's knowledge is spot on, overall the day was great, good company on a damp and drizzly December afternoon, cheers Rose and cheers John

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Abysmal Without doubt this was the worst tour I have ever been on. I still can’t believe the cost of the tour! The bus was nearly an hour late for setting off. The driver didn’t know the route. There was no heating on the bus whatsoever so we were all freezing cold. There were barely any of points of interests. We were sat upstairs so missed out on hearing from the tour guide. It lasted for nearly 3 hours and me and my friends couldn’t wait for it to end. We did in fact leave the bus before the end as soon as it got back to central Manchester. I would apply for a refund but know there’s no chance. It was actually for my birthday and it certainly ruined the afternoon. Fortunately me and my friends saved the day by having a great evening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top tour A brilliant afternoon tour visiting Oasis music locations led by John Robb who was generous with his knowledge and sharing his own experiences of the MCR music scene. The Gill family are really welcoming. An ideal outing if you are on your own and everyone is friendly and United by a common interest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great way to spend an afternoon. I went on this with my missus and although she’s not a massive oasis fan she still really enjoyed it. The tour guide was engaging enough to keep her interested. I on the other hand absolutely loved it. The guy who gave the tour was John Rob. His knowledge on oasis and his experience over the years made this a very special day. He’s been around the scene many years and what he doesn’t know about it isn’t worth knowing. We stopped off at key locations like the boardwalk where the band used the practice. The shop they bought there equipment coplete with boneheads guitar on display. The guy at the shop produced a stool from the back that was used at mane road with boneheads name on it. After that was stops at there school and there mums house where we are told she still lives. We also stopped at the house the defenatly maybe album cover was shot. The highlight for me was stopping of at sifters records.
