Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favourite Gig of the Year I had been waiting for this gig for months, having last seen the band in May. I went with my wife Sue and met up with a bus load of friends that had traveled down, Sue had a seat reserved for her by the band because she can't stand too long while I stood all night. It was the largest crowd I had ever witnessed at The Globe and all this while the other version of Wishbone Ash were playing up the road in Aberdare. The band played two superb set full of old Classic Wishbone tunes mixed with songs from the Award Winning Album 'Written In The Stars'. I think the Highlight was the band playing the whole of the 'Argus' album and personally I can't wait for the Spring Tour to hear the whole of the 'There's The Rub' album. Everyone I spoke to after the gig said they thoroughly enjoyed it and I haven't heard a bad word said about it. A most excellent gig indeed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Performance Loved the Argus album from Wishbone Ash and was not disappointed with the portion of the concert dedicated to it. Playing of great quality and virtuosity. Great energy and a very professional show

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gig. Shame about the management. I've attended many gigs at the Globe going back to the time when Alan Jones was in charge, and I've seen both Martin Turner's and Andy Powell's versions of Wishbone ash. Whilst I can't fault APs guitar skills and his bands interpretation of the WA back catalogue, for me it's Matin Turner who is he voice of the band and as such his version have the edge. As for guitar skills, Danny Willson appears equal to Mr Powell and along with Misha Nikolic, the dual guitar duties are more than adequately replicated. With Martin Turner (Unfairly overshadowed by Phil Lynott in the rock vocal/bass playing department IMHO) and Tim Brown (BLIMEY!!!) on drums providing a more than solid (if not flamboyant) rhythm section for any band. MT and his band as a whole, also have a sense of humility that AP sadly seems to lack. It was nice to see them all mingling with the punters at the end of the show and nice to talk guitars and gear with them. We came down to the Globe for the "Written In The Stars" tour 2016 which was great but they seemed to up their game a few notches this time round, and listening to the band playing the Argus album in full meant for an awesome gig. The only downside for me was that at the end of the night we were allowed to buy drinks at the bar and within minutes were told to "make your way out of the building". However, as I got to the exit was told that I had to finish my drink before exiting. I ended up having to leave more than 3/4 of the can with the bouncer. Seems to me to be a cynical way of making some extra Pounds Sterling for the venue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great evening, top-class classic rock. I do like a bit of Wishbone Ash, and Martin Turner's version delivered very nicely. An excellent mixture of those '70s classics and stuff from his new album (which was OK, but not as satisfying, because it was/is new). The band were super-tight, all those classic twin leads well-executed, and, best of all, they seemed to be having fun. Martin himself is a very engaging chap, with a nice line in bad jokes and stories. One of my best gigs of 2016.The overlapping twin leads (different tunes
