What people are saying about Mercury Rev

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best gigs I have been to Seeing Mercury Rev in a venue like the Caves in Edinburgh was outstanding. A few hundred people, all within meters of the stage, I really have never been to a gig like it. The performance was superb and the acoustics, wow!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stripped Down and Bare Fantastic, pretty much played the album, plus 2 other songs, therefore probably one of the shortest gigs I have been to. Tolbooth Stirling a really intimate venue, tiny but great. The album took on a different light when played in this atmosphere and acoustically it really worked. The band had a great energy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Live Music As It Should Be Experienced This was billed as a stripped back concert to note the 20th anniversary of Mercury Red's classic album - Desserters Songs. I'm so glad to say they did exactly that. A set of just over an hour to cover all their classic songs, delivered with passion and warmth. Definitely a night to remember what great musician they still are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to see this band in such a small venue... La Belle Angele was a great venue to see a band of the stature of Mercury Rev – who were their usual offbeat selves. A very intimate gig. Both the venue and Mercury Rev highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Night Lemon tree is a great venue. Maybe 300 capacity which gives a quite intimate atmosphere. The band were right on the ball, really tight and looking like they were having as much fun as the punters.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much backing track and no bass player Not a bad show but I've seen them many times and I felt that they were somewhat diminished here. That they had no bass player and we're using a backing track which weakened some of the songs. Goddess on a hiway being a good example. On a more positive note there was a great guitar freakout when the singer was playing guitar as well as the other 2 guitarists.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A memorable experience I arrived in time to be right at the front of the stage in this relatively small venue with lots of atmosphere. The support act was an excellent start to a fantastic gig. Mercury Rev appeared on stage in a smoky, erie haze and then mesmerised the audience with their music. I was lost in music, and having a ball.
