The Loudest Motorhead Tribute In The World. TM
Motörheadache are the real deal when it comes to the ultimate tribute to the much-missed heavy rock’n’roll power trio. Talking of power trios, support was ably provided by Segregates, Motorpunk at its finest. Mic angled up a la Kilmister, Smell dispensed the coruscating bass lines in ear-searing numbers including forthcoming 12” hammering slab, Preach To Me and Sands Of Time with blistering solos from guitar-ace, Dr Horn. F-bombs and banter aplenty spewed from this entertaining combo, with many converts visiting their merch stall.
Thundering slaps about the face came from Dirty Dave, the King of stamina, since he thumps those tubs for Motörheadache too in a double header.
Onto the headliner tonight and you know these guys know their stuff when they deliver the likes of a wondrous cover of Louie Louie, alongside classics such as We Are The Road Crew and a grooving Damage Case. Even a guitar amp mishap during In The Name Of Tragedy couldn’t spoil the party as they managed to carry it off even if Lemster Rob joked it sounded more like drum’n’bass. The fastest, tightest version of Ramones led into classic audience-participation classics Jailbait and Killed By Death. Both bands employed scorched-earth tactics that went down a treat with this appreciative Norwich Waterfront crowd.
