What people are saying about OKTOBERFESTIVAL WEEKENDER

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic afternoon! I went to the Oktoberfestival Sunday afternoon event at Albert hall in Manchester and I would highly recommend it if you like fun, food and love beer. Music was great and the band and event staff got the whole crowd involved, laughing dancing singing etc. Everyone got a free beer too! I hope the event returns next year as I will be going again. Great event.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It would have got a 5 but... Oktoberfestival was great, really good atmosphere, overall the music was good. Hilarious "german" host. Got a free beer when the keg was tapped and a free sausage after the sausage eating competition. Only 2 things let it down. With the beer tokens, every 4th beer you had to get a Paulaner beer, but not told this beforehand. If you didn't like it you lost £5 every 4 drinks. Secondly, Tim Burgess was a shocking dj. No theme to the music, 2 tunes mixed badly out of time and the rest just played one after the other. He was also on his phone a lot of the time during the set looking disinterested, except when he lay at the front of the stage a couple of times for people to fawn over him.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expected much better! Having paid for a Trestle Table we expected table service as that is normally the case for Octoberfest festivals and that our party of 6 paid a lot of money each for what - just a seat as unfortunately that is all we got. We paid per drink through drinks tokens, one of which had to be a certain branded drink which non of the group liked, thus was not explained pre purchase of the tickets. As we went up to the bar, we returned numerous times with random people sat in our seats which we consistently had to keep moving away. All in all very expensive tickets, very expensive drinks, poor quality drinks and something we would not return to.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overpriced. Not that Oktoberfest-y Went with friends. Whilst it wasn't a bad event, it didn't feel very much like Oktoberfest. Cost of beer was high, so that was a bit poor. Then when you take into account one MUST be Paulaner that made it worse. No other benches other than reserved, which to be honest I'm glad we didn't.....what a ripoff. "Buy a glass!" oh but it's not glass, obviously we know why. But that's just disappointing and not very Oktoberfest style but I get it. No German band?? Overall I wouldn't recommend and didn't think it was worth the money. It could have been so much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful music Terrible music - no good traditional cheesy German music. Terrible atmosphere - some aggressive guys who had to be kicked out.
