Ought gig oughten' be forgotten anytime soon.I had listened to Ought previous to the gig, but there was still an air of exciting mystery before arriving. After struggling to find the entrance to the gig running around the building multiple times and getting poured heavily on by the merciless rain me and my friend were eagerly ready to hear the music. The Village Underground was an awesome venue, the darker, more hidden the better a venue is in my opinion. And the name was a good indicator, It felt like we were in an old underground station. Another favourite element of going to gigs is when the support band blow your mind too, when their electric energy is competeable with the main act. The support band were called Shopping and their post punk tightness blew me away, and the crowd were captured by them, so much so that I've been to see them by themsleves and I love them now too. Ought burst on to stage, determined to crash on to stage and deliver an intense and electric set, which they did. Their carefully put together and joltey music was amazing live and succeeded expectations, the room was alive and would definetely see them again, an amazing live band who can create an electric atmopshere whilst remaining an air of storytelling about them. 10/10 gig
