Peeresses, Parliament and Prejudice lecture

Women gained the right to vote and become MPs in 1918. It was not until 1958 that women could sit in the House of Lords. This illustrated lecture by Dr Duncan Sutherland tells the story of the long campaign to achieve this, especially the efforts of former Suffragette Viscountess Rhondda, and explores why full political equality for women took so long.
