What people are saying about Pumarosa

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing I saw Pumarosa last year after the release of The Witch and they were excellent. The new album Devestation in my opinion is nowhere near as good and as result the live show seemed rather flat only coming to life when some of the older tracks were played.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A band that deserve to be big [This is a resubmission of the review below as some of the text is missing] I first saw Pumarosa on Jules Holland (Jules get them back!) and promptly bought the album The Witch- great lyrics, fantastic musicianship and someone with a special presence in Isobel, their front women. I then managed to catch them at the Hare & Hounds, Birmingham in Dec 2017 before they went on to support Everything Everything & Depeche Mode. What an excellent gig in an intimate venue. 2 years later and that difficult second album. So what has changed? Well, they’ve got better. The album Devastation was showcased at the even more intimate Castle & Falcon. The songs are darker and there has been a shift in direction but the Dragonfly-like metamorphosis has taken them to even better places although you might need to listen to the album a few times to appreciate this. Once those ear worms get you, you’ll be taken to a different place. This is real music and Pumarosa deserve to be on a big stage. I will proudly say I was there to support them when they started out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epic performance at Brixton Really good at the Electric in Brixton with nice support too. Very fortunate to get a spot right at the front as the place was packed and Isabel and the rest of the band were really on top form. One of the best best gigs I have been to this year. Others clearly liked it as lots of screaming from young ladies all around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great night What a great night and atmosphere. A really good venue and the mind blowing Vista was just the start. A physical musical act of great intensity. The intermediate act also great but somehow the contact less intense and then the wonderful Pumarose. Great things ahead I think.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bewitched by brilliance What a superb band, fronted so eloquently by founder member Isobel. Pumarosa played their debut album 'The Witch' and were note perfect, delivering each song with professionalism and great musicianship. These are a band for the future, and I eagerly await their follow-up album and their next tour. Band of the year for me
