Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sound was awful!! Attended Reading festival on Saturday 26th August to see eminem. Was all so excited for the event and had been looking forward to seeing eminem for months. Tickets weren't cheap with travel and food was an expensive day out but we thought if eminem was as good as we thought it would be worth it. The sound was a bit muffled all day but we thought it may sort out for the headlining act. When Eminem came on we could hear the backing track very well but when he came onto stage and started rapping we could hardly hear a thing. People around us started to chant "we can't hear you" one girl said that kasabian had blown the left speaker the day before which happened to be where we was stood. We stayed to see if it improved and in the end we started watching the idiot who was dangling off the metal stands in the middle of the field. mentioned the sound to a few security and the response we got was "not my job" surely they could have informed someone that there was an issue. We tried to move round but the crowd was too busy. We ended up leaving early because and listening to his album on the car home. We waited about 7hours for him to come out and was left disappointed, also security took all 4 camping chairs we had bought as my friends had taken them in the year before, then being in the festival an hour we started to see people with their chairs. What was the point of taking them off us. Would like some compensation for the event but no one at reading seemed to care. This is why I go to Glastonbury every year don't get the rubbish and people are just there to enjoy themselves. Tried to attach videos of the awful sound but only will let me attach via you tube.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Woudn't miss it Went for the third year running with my daughter. Stayed in the campervan field. As we have the other years, start in the alternative tent with some comedy and then moved on to the Pit or main stage. We like to watch some of the less well known bands and then find a good spot on the main stage for the evening. Found the food to adequate but not first class, but the cider tasted better this year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Annual Pilgrimage to Check Out New Music Had a most enjoyable weekend as usual (I only live 2 -3 miles away) and like to focus on selected bands as well as regular trips to the Introducing Stage. The highlights of the latter for me were Rale and Anna Straker and overall my favourite set was Everything Everything who hadn't given us much time to get into their latest album released only a week before. It was the hottest and sunniest Reading I've been to and that includes quite a number since 1974. A lot of people of my age have musical taste fossilised in what was around in their teens or twenties but there's plenty of good new stuff around and Reading is the ideal place to find it. It would be fantastic if Public Service Broadcasting could play next year, I've already got my ticket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great Friday and Sunday!! I really had a wonderful time this year, weather and music perfect! Such a good atmosphere too. Muse played an unexpected brilliant set, as expected, but heard old favourites, lovely. I also enjoyed Jim my Eat World and Glass Animals. It was good to have the rock and rap scheduled in blocks. Well done organisers.
