Rated 5 out of
Maturing, confident, tight dream pop.
Check out their YouTube clips.....and then, partly, ignore them.
I was at the recent Birmingham gig (Sunflower Lounge) and was really impressed.
'Rose Dive' are no longer the awkward, nervous, jingle-janglers of their college recordings, this is a fully-functional band that have matured fantastically.
There's a burgeoning dreampop/shoegaze scene at the moment with the likes of Alvvays/Fazerdaze/Hazel English/Day Wave/Alaskalaska and the (sadly-defunct) Big Deal.
These guys fit in nicely to that scene, but with a touch more of The Sundays vulnerability.
They are a really good band and now stand, surely, on the edge of lift off.
Bigger venues and bigger audiences must lie ahead......
