All the best gigs are early in the week
Say Sue Me were awesome. I loved their sound. I went cause I had read about them in Kerrang and they were playing at my awesome local venue The Craufurd Arms. They lived up to the hype.

Superb gig, superb venue
I'd seen Say Sue Me earlier in the year when they played with Otoboke Beaver on the 'Attuyma' whirlwind tour of the UK and was impressed, just as I was with the two albums they'd recorded. Now they were headlining their own tour and took in York at a venue I had been meaning to go to but never quite managed it - The Crescent. The Crescent is a great little venue and only 5 mins walk from the train station and I wholeheartedly ask you consider giving it your custom.
SSM played a set of about 70 minutes with a great mixture of the first two LPs, along with one of the highlights of the set which was their cover of Blondie's 'Dreaming' from their RSD18 one sided 12" release.
They were touring with a stand in bassist after their own bassist was called home to Busan in an emergency and he acquitted himself amazingly well, and their was some good onstage banter between him and Sumi about how he was faring up.
SSM are really working hard with their gigs in the UK this year, often going to places that aren't first choice cities to tour in, and I always think that bands who do this really deserve to be rewarded in audience numbers. They have been constantly cited as one of the bands 'to watch' in 2018 but it would be nice if more people discover them because they have certainly worked hard enough this year to deserve that. If you like the idea of seeing a South Korean band playing a mixture of pop and garage rock with slight hints of Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine guitar tones to it, then you really need to pay your price of admission and see them teh next time they tour, because you will very much enjoy the show.

Best new band in the world
I came across this band when I saw them advertised as surf rock. I missed them when they played local, but was lucky to catch them playing at York. I was excited to see them and they didn't disappoint! They are a very tight outfit that are having the time of their life playing together, awesome being a word used too lightly but these guys deserve the moniker'awesone' infectious tunes, sweet lyrics, loved watching them play and hope they come back to England soon
