What people are saying about SCRAP CLUB - a public Destructivist action

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish I had never gone - what a waste of a sunny day! They really should have called this "Crapclub". Shame there at no negative stars. Arrived on time, queued up, 3rd person in at 3pm.......then waited around until 5:30pm and then left not even had a turn! The system of selection - your name goes into a hat and then they chose 6/7 people at random(!). The group then goes through a 5min "safety speech". After that the smashing begins and the group get between 5mins and 10mins depending on whether the guy in charge is watch his watch or joining in. After the smashing session, it took approx. 10 mins to clean up the mess in readiness for the next group. All in all, approx 30 mins per 6/7 people. 14 people max per hour They sold 130 tickets and held this in a small garage! We left at 6pm not willing to wait around. I requested a full refund and only got a partial refund along with a message from the organiser [Wajid] to say never apply for tickets again. Like that's ever going to happen!! Other issues: randon was not entirely random, some people were hand picked to smash up the 2 biggest items (a piano and a car). The first group of people to smash up the car got over 15 mins, by which time there was nothing left for the 2nd group and then no one else got a turn. The piano took almost 20 mins to smash up and then another 20 mins to clear up. We were not the only people to leave without having smashed anything up. I hope everyone else got their refunds to. In conclusion: the organisers didn't have a clue, no organisational skills, poorly executed and a shambles of an event. Don't waste your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ruined by the 3 hour wait. First into the venue, last to be chosen to smash the scrap up. Was so excited to finally get Scrap Club tickets. My friend and I were two of the first at the location, and then plenty more people arrived late. Our names were put in a hate upon entry to take turns - turns out most of the latecomers were at the top of the pile to go first. A guy who didn't even have a pre-booked ticket went before us. Very poorly organised. We waited for 3 hours to have our turn. Utterly ridiculous. I had lost all interest by this point. Definitely not worth the wait. Such a shame as I had wanted to take part in this experience for years. Never again.
