What people are saying about Soul Legends: Featuring Special Guest Lemar

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overpriced and boring Lemar only sang 3 songs. The whole show was pretty dull and lack lustre. Not worth the ticket price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Huge disappointment! This promised so much and, having bought tickets for my husband's Christmas present, we were really looking forward to seeing Lemar live. The sound quality was so poor, the balance was well out ! What should have been a funky bass line was lost completely which ruined the already lack lustre atmosphere.... Lemar not turning up was just unbelievable! A waste of a babysitter, time, money and petrol to Manchester and back! :-(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Ladies Saved The Day Terrible sound and mix. You couldn't hear the male singers. Second half better as the Ladies really put on a show - however only went for Lemar - a con - he didn't appear and I heard one male singer say 'He is in the building' - obviously not - told after 9.20pm he wasn't appearing - already guessed that. Obviously the performers already knew that as there had been no sound check by him. My partner was kept entertained by the keyboard players expressions - basically I could play all the instruments better than the band. Bridgewater Hall is reknowned for the acoustics - nothing could have saved this tribute show. I don't think Lemar was going to be on as the number of costume changes was never ending - strange that if the singers had to do extra songs to cover for Lemar and didnt know he wasn't appearing - they had enough costumes

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Lemar, No explanation!!! Went to this event February 6, 2019 at Bridgewater Hall Manchester. No show from Lemar. Yes you read that correctly. Lemar did not show up! No explanation from Bridgewater Hall as they only hire out the Hall. Dreadful sound balance all evening, vocals too loud drowning out just four musicians (presumably employing instrumental backing tracks) and no attempt to replicate the big brass punchy funky sound of Earth Wind and Fire, or the sexy strings of 'The Love Unlimited Orchestra' with actual trumpets, trombones, saxophones or rhythmic percussion bongos, conga drums, tambourines etc, as you would expect for a concert billed as 'SOUL LEGENDS' in a magnificent, acoustically renowned venue. In fairness, the six singers with multiple costume changes were magnificent holding this event together. The male singer who broke the disappointing news ten minutes before the end of the concert is Lejaune André, who in 2018 did his Signed Sealed Delivered Stevie Wonder Tribute Tour. Good job really because this guy was a class act when we saw his show at Regent Theatre, Stoke-On-Trent last year. On another day the sound balance will be perfect, Lemar will turn up, and the drummer will perform the rudiments of 'funk' drumming more intensely. Sorry One star for Lemar not turning up and the dreadful sound quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very very poor Firstly not great sound in the Bridgewater Hall. Over amplified to the extent you could really tell what male singers were saying. Lemar didn’t show up and Soul Legend singer said don’t ask for a refund or we won’t get paid. You really couldn’t make it up.
