Sounds in the Grounds is a series of live picnic concerts performed in the grounds of two of Yorkshire's finest stately homes - Scampston Hall near Malton and Ripley Castle near Harrogate.

Audiences can enjoy a line-up of best-loved and internationally renowned bands from their designated and socially-distanced 'picnic patch' - available for 2, 4 or 6 people (conforming to PHE Covid-19 guidance).

In fully staged productions with LED screens, Sounds in the Grounds features Beyond the Barricade (with special guest Lockie Chapman, former lead singer of The Overtones) (28 Aug Scampston, 4 Sept Ripley), ABBA MANIA (29 Aug Scampston, 5 Sept Ripley), The Bootleg Beatles (30 Aug Scampston, 3 Sept Ripley) and A Country Night in Nashville (31 Aug Scampston, 6 Sept Ripley).

The support act to every concert will be The New York Brass Band, guaranteed to get you on your feet for a night of superb live entertainment.

Support from The New York Brass Band

Hailing from the ancient streets of York, the New York Brass Band is a powerhouse 7-piece ensemble at the forefront of a funky brass revolution. With a repertoire that ranges from Marvin Gaye to George Michael, from Cee-Lo Green to Stevie Wonder, with some funky, gritty northern originals thrown in for good measure, nothing kicks a party into gear like the sound of a smokin' New Orleans Mardi Gras Jazz Band! They pull in the crowds at Glastonbury and are sure to be a hit at Sounds in the Grounds too!

At Sounds in the Grounds we want all our visitors to have a fun time, and importantly a safe time. The health and wellbeing of our visitors and staff is of paramount importance. We have been monitoring the guidance over recent weeks from the Government and Public Health England, and planning our event in accordance with that.

We will implement socially-distanced queuing at the entrance, as necessary.
We will have clearly marked In and Out lanes at the entrance.
Disabled patrons will be able to park as close as possible to the arena.

We will be selling food and beverage on site and will post further details closer to the event.
We will have picnic tables and benches outside the food and beverage facilities which will be socially-distanced, and wiped on a regular basis.

Customers who are accompanied by children are responsible for supervising them at all times and ensuring they follow social distancing guidelines.
Perspex screens will be installed at box office, tills and food service areas.
We will use 'put down - pick up' as much as possible, rather than passing goods hand to hand.
There will be signage around the site reminding visitors of the 1m social distancing rule, and hand gel stations.
Face coverings can be purchased on site.
All staff will wear masks and regularly use hand gel.
Contactless payments are encouraged at Sounds in the Grounds.
