Ill Considered and Collocutor, Jazz Cafe
Ill Considered, a reeds, bass, drumkit and "conga" like small drums quartet, opened: Just wonderful interplay and evolving improvisation over a fine deep-African groove bass. Enthralling music. Would have been happy to hear them all night. Next: Collocutor, two reeds, trumpet, guitar, upright bass and two percussionists with a fascinating range of percussible hardware. All worthy soloists, trumpeter really stunning with the most beautiful tone, guitarist creating churning spaces, ensemble playing lovely. Omisions of comment here don't reflect omissions in the reed players' music. Fine fine all around. We were in that evening after a flight, so getting hungry and tired. Wished it had been otherwise. Oh, the sound system at Jazz Cafe is excellent, as are the sightlines.

One of the most disappointing nights I've ever been to
To include the likes of john and Alice Coltrane, pharoah sanders and Kamasi Washington in the Description was incredibly misleading. Both bands incredibly Pretentious and boring. Would never recommend seeing either groups. Shame as Jazz cafe usually very good.
