Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent...again! Another exvellent Steve Mason gig & the band where solid. Little Barrie - what else is there to say. Personally, thoroughly great night, but the local crowd seemed pretty quite for some? reason

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gig! I went to this extremely close to home gig (It was a 5 min walk from my house) with my gorgeous man. It was a mixed atmosphere, a bit too reserved for our liking. Steve was brilliant, sounded great and the band was really good. Set seemed to go far too fast though. Stand out moments were his entrance in a black glittery cape and his performance on the bongos as part of the encore.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Manchester Academy 2 2019 Solid new band (including one guitarist who looked like a tall garden gnome), great seeing Steve enter the stage in a wrestling style cape. But I felt slightly underwhelmed with the mostly Meet the Humans/About the Light material he played live (i'd have been happy as a pig in poo if he'd just played Monkey Minds in Devil Times fully, think we only got 2 tracks) ... it isn't that the new materials bad, but it all sorta feels samey and safe instead of the eclectic boiling pot of his Beta Band tenancy and earlier King Biscuit Time/Black Affair era's. Still glad I went, warmed us miserable mancs (quietest crowd I've seen at a gig in years) up on a cold Feb night, and its always cool seeing Mani ligging around at the back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steve Mason - SWG3 SWG3 has been a fairly new feature to the Glasgow scene and the sound in the venue belied its strong reviews. Steve’s new album About The Light featured prominently and it was a great set by Fife’s finest. There was no need for any Beta Band tracks as Steve played to his biggest crowd “in f*cking years”. Adorning a cape to opening track “Stars around my heart”, Steve and his band played a powerful set from the start. He seemed genuinely moved by the crowd reaction, in particular to his most recent tracks, but songs from Monkey Minds In Devil’s Time and Humans added to the strength of his set. Catch him while you can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Irreverent genius For those that know him, it's everything you'd like from Steve..rapier wit, interaction and a pitch perfect interpretation to some of the new material and plenty of the old. And he's hot.
