Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best gig in a long long time Attend plenty of gigs, normally 1 a month, Cadillac Three were amazing, Great clear sound, sonically the live sound was a brilliant upgrade on their already great recorded sound quality. Entertaining banter and deep southern Nashville chat, perfect for a cold Mancunian night in November! These guys rocked the place all night, 1hr 40 mins of solid performance. Really looking forward to their return already.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Went for the support, loved the main act too My second country gig at the Academy, all went well until some rude people started pushing their way into non-existing spaces. My friend asked this lady to move and a heated discussion about where to stand followed and the lady left. Shortly after, two security approached and advised we would need to be moved due to this incident. Others around us advised that we did nothing wrong. Then a large guy approached and said the lady in question was his wife/girlfriend and as he was head of the building that he wanted us moved!! Totally unnecessary behavior. This really marred our night at the gig which should have been fun and enjoyable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing! I have the Bury Me In My Boots album on vinyl which is amazing. Unfortunately, I found them barely adequate and repetitious when playing live. It sounded like the same song multiple occasions. Mediocre

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Southern Rock Rocks Rock City Attended this with my teenage son, and the evening started badly, with a long queue outside the venue in the cold for 45 minutes - despite the tickets indicating the doors opened at 6:30, it was 7 before the "meet and greet" line were let in, and another 10 minutes before regular ticket holders were let in. Once inside however, things definitely warmed up. The venue is quite a wide auditorium, that does not go very far back, so everyone is relatively close to the band - even the upstairs balcony which was also packed out. I didn't notice any seating, although to be honest, I didn't look hard as we found a great spot just one row back in centre of the stage and stayed there all night. There are also numerous bars around the edge to keep patrons refreshed. Support band, The Brothers Osborne, recently back from the Country Music Awards where they won best vocal duo, proved a great hit with the crowd. Despite much of the room knowing little, if any, of their songs, they worked the crowd really well and soon had everyone clapping along. A great mix of country twang, and some up-tempo foot stompers went down great with a very appreciative audience. The brothers themselves are giants, towering over the other three band members on stage, but seemed genuinely pleased with the reaction they received. Up next, the main event, the Cadillac Three. Wow! Considering two of the three guys spend most of the show sat down, it's amazing how much energy they bring to the show. This is a group of guys that seem genuinely surprised and delighted that anyone in the UK has heard of them - although to be honest, I think they are genuinely surprised anyone outside their home town has heard of them! A packed Rock City though was only too willing to greet them as friends. They blasted into powerful versions of Bury Me in my Boots, followed by Peace Love & Dixie - both done far more justice live by Neil's pounding drums than on CD. This was even more the case with the tracks from Legacy, which on the CD are far more tame versions in comparison to the stomping versions we got that night - with only the feeble "Take Me to the Bottom" failing to match the heights of the other tracks. With a drum bass beat like they have, you don't even notice they have no bass player in the group. Jaren whirled around the stage with what seemed like a different guitar for each song, but was at his most impressive while the other two slipped off stage leaving him alone to perform "Running Red Lights". Fuzzy haired Ray on the slide guitar ... desk ... thing ... was also able to shine with a solo that showed how talented the entire group are, and how much they enjoy being on stage with each other. With six or seven tracks from each of their three CD's, there was a good mix of new and old, with only a couple of obvious omissions (no "Party Like You" or "Ship Faced"). The obligatory walk off / walk on ending before the encore was pleasingly brief, before a great rendition of American Slang, and closing with the Cadillac Three's sing-along anthem, "The South". This is a great live band, who are clearly enjoying everything life throws at them at the moment, including fatherhood. I really hope their future CD's capture the power and energy that they bring to the stage far more so than Legacy did - as they are even better live than I had imagined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best TC3 Gig yet... From the moment they came on stage looking truly humbled by the size of and love coming from the crowd to the very last guitar riff this was a great gig. A good mix of old and new material, great crowd involvement and loads of whisky fuelled energy throughout!
